The first snowfall of the year is always exciting. I love to ski, so I love snow. Snowflakes have always intrigued me, and this year it was no different. The geometric pattern of snowflakes is special with each snowflake being unique.
When I learned that we had to make an ornament, I thought making a snowflake would be a great project. Even though snowflakes naturally have 6 sides, I chose to make an 8-sided “snowflake” because it was a more intricate design.
I created one extension. Then I copied, rotated it 450, pasted, and repeated until I had four extensions connected or half the snowflake. Then I mirrored this image over a plane to create the second half of the 8-sided snowflake. The 8-sided snowflake is complete. Then I added closed circles to the overlapping pieces for more stability in the structure. Lastly, I added an open circle as the ornament hanger.
